Freeride in Norway, in Lyngen, a high mountain resort with a wide variety of slopes suitable for any skii level. We will be staying at the legendary Magic Mountain Lodge where you can meet the most reckless freeriders from all around the world. You can also enjoy fine home cooking and share your mountain adventures on après-ski. The local English-speaking guide will select the day of the tour to ensure the best conditions related to safety and weather. Top-peaks are:
In order to participate in this tour, a good physical condition is required, especially for uphill and downhill on skis. Good physical preparation is required, especially in ski mountaineering techniques with skins so that you can climb 1,200-2,000 meters per day. It will be essential to know how to use avalanche instruments and equipment such as shovel, probe, spotlight, etc. Your guide will take care of the rest so you can ensure safe climbs and descents every day. Changes in weather conditions can affect and modify the itinerary. Appropriate avalanche safety equipment is mandatory.

Arrive in Tromsø and transfer to the meeting point for departure to your hotel (approximately 2 hours). Accommodation in your rooms, followed by meeting with the guide and fellow adventurers planning the itinerary for the next day, in particular evaluating the snow and avalanche bulletin to choose the best slopes available (transfer from the airport to the meeting point not included, available on request)
Accommodation
We will be staying at the iconic Magic Mountain Lodge, located nearby the main ski areas. We will sleep in double rooms with two single beds or a double bed, of your choice. For single travelers, we propose matching with guests of the same sex. As for the services, the structure is very rustic but at the same time simple and functional, shower toilets are not present in all the rooms because they are shared. The breakfasts will be abundant, packed lunches and typical dinner at the property.
Excursion duration: 6-8 hours
A good breakfast for a day full of adventures. Daily briefing with the guide. Reconnaissance tour to become familiar with the place and allow the guide to get to know the group and be able to choose the suitable terrain for the excursion. The excursion takes place on an easy terrain but it is challenging in terms of extension and height difference, so that your technical skills and resistance will be tested. On the other hand, this excursion will provide you a solid foundation for the following ones. The day will end with an après-ski and dinner at the Magic Mountain Lodge.
Excursion duration: 6-8 hours
Breakfast and departure for the slopes. The day tour will depend on the weather and physical conditions of the participants. Based on the number of participants there will be the possibility of dividing the group into small sub-groups in case of skiing on different areas. A wonderful day of freeriding among these impressive peaks! Prepare your legs for a full day before heading back to your lodge to enjoy an après-ski with one of the many traditional Norwegian dinners.
Waking up early in the morning for the last day of ski mountaineering with Lyngen. The last efforts will be needed to push to the top and then go back down to your lodge. After the arrival, some time available for relaxation and a shower before preparing your luggage and leaving at 4:00 pm with expected arrival at the airport at 6:00 pm. (depending on the time of the return flight, it is possible to book the overnight stay near Tromsø airport with a supplement)
